 About our 1963 Ex-Police Unimog 404 - SOLD |

The following are answers to e-mail questions we have received that may be of interest to prospective buyers: 1. What is the exact vehicle model?Unimog-S 404.1 (as stated in the Fahrzeugbrief) 2. Does the vehicle have rust? Was the paint always that color? The Unimog is rust free. It was always that color. Any Unimogs in police service are painted that color. Also, the Police Department maintained their vehicles very well, although they did not use them frequently, so they have low kilometers. 3. What is the history of the vehicle? How long was it registered to the Police Department? We have had the ex-police Unimog for about 8 months. We purchased it from a 3rd party, who got it directly from the Police Department in Saarbrücken. It was registered to the Police Department until 1998. 4. How would you describe the current condition of the vehicle? We've driven the Unimog occasionally since we have had it and it runs well. We fire it up regularly. When it got very cold here in December it was the only one of our Mogs that fired up right away! It has new batteries in it. The tires are also in good shape. They are not dry rotted. The motor, clutch and all major components are in good working order. There are no leaks. 5. Which motor does it have, the M180 or the M130? It has the M180 motor... 82 HP. 6. Is the winch in good working order? Yes. It looks brand new. It probably has never been used. 7. Does it have the factory tool kit with it? Yes. It comes with a hydraulic jack, tire wrench, and fire extinguisher. It does not have any small tools, like wrenches. 8. Is the electrical system in good order for the truck and radio box? Yes, everything on the electrical system works. All the radio equipment in the rear has been removed. 9. Is the transmission in good condition - all the synchros and gears working, up and down shifting? The transmission is in good condition, no grinding gears on up or down shifting. 10. Does it come with any manuals, or accessories that weren't listed on the Web page? It comes with the standard Operator's Manual, in English. 11.Can I get a clear vehicle title in the US, if I get it shipped here? Yes. After the vehicle has been paid, we send to the buyer - via registered mail - the original Vehicle Title, a Bill of Sale, and a copy of the Sea Waybill. All of these will be needed to import the vehicle. |
